“Kristin Colino's word is her bond. She means what she says and says what she means. In a time when people's words have lost the art of carrying any weight, Kristin easily stands out as a leader with integrity. Because of that, she has earned my utmost trust and respect as a mentor. Her dedication to conform her life to The Gospel message of Jesus Christ only further enhances her credibility as an individual. She consistently delivers high-quality professionalism, reliability, follow-through and work ethic without losing touch of the "human" element necessary to nurture authentic and balanced relationships.” - 26 year-old, Peer/Consumer, August 2019
THE SPIRIT
“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.” (2 Corinthians 3:17). We strive to be slaves to righteousness and not slaves to sin, but are we as Christians truly free of responsibilities or obligations? No, God has given us free will within the context of His creation. The creature is not the Creator. When we submit our Spirit to the Lord, we are no longer slaves. We are ambassadors for Christ. We are guardians of the Holy Spirit. We are a royal priesthood. Do you live your life as royalty in the Kingdom of God? Is your daily life worthy of being a child of God?
We all fall short according to Paul, but he considered death a blessing compared to his time as a prisoner. He anxiously anticipated his spirit in complete union with Christ. Therefore, he submitted his daily practices to The Great Commission. He spread the Gospel wherever and whenever he could, even from jail. He didn’t have a “Get out of jail free” card. He was subject to the Sovereign Lord and His will. In our world today success is independence; it is capitalism; and it is wealth. But God, He looks inward and judges the condition of our hearts. Which will you choose?
The Christian’s walk is not a race, it is a journey. With it comes patience, endurance, and strength of character. Are you allowing the Holy Spirit to transform you into one of God’s masterpieces? What spiritual practices have you put in place to stay connected and in communion with God? Are you reading The Bible? Paul told Timothy all we need to equip us fully for a life in Christ is in the Scriptures. It is the living Word of God. Another cornerstone of the Christian faith is knowing the four Gospels and how they map out the life of Christ from different perspectives.
We all see our world through our own eyes, but no eye has seen what God has prepared for those who put their faith in Jesus. The invisible God sent His Son to us as a transparent and clear model of living out the faith, being a disciple. The Bible is God’s love letter to humanity (John 3:16). Why wouldn’t you want to be with God eternally? His grace is a free gift offered to all who will accept it. You can be in relationship with Jesus, you can show up on Sundays and live a life of hypocrisy, or you can say, “No, thank you!” God will always respect your decision, but be sure to make one. Commitment makes for solid beginnings and strong endings. Live a life worthy of your “imago dei”. You are wonderfully made in the image of God.
#spiritual cornerstones
There are, in fact, some daily practices that are foundational to the Christian faith. God whispers when He speaks, the Holy Spirit prompts while He transforms, and Jesus preaches with the perfect balance of truth and grace. We are called to love with compassion and care, but we are also called to address behaviors within our community of believers that are not in line with teachings of Christ. Building a house on “the solid rock” requires these cornerstones to be in place first. All other types of construction will not withstand the inevitable testing of your faith.
#biblical disciplines
Dallas Willard once used the term “Bible roulette” to describe what we as Christians often practice with the Word of God. We anticipate it will speak to us directly if we just open it, and it doesn’t matter where, when, or how. This practice is common, but it is also a falsehood. Welcoming a relationship with Jesus means staying in constant communication, constant prayer, and in constant discipleship. Christ did not promise the Christian walk is easy, but He did promise that through Him our yoke would be easy and His burden on us would be light. We must be obedient.
But as for you, continue in what you have learned and firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it, and how from childhood you have known the sacred writings that are able to instruct you for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, so that everyone who belongs to God may be proficient, equipped for every good work. - 2 Timothy 3:14-17
