Brainstorming

According to the wise King Solomon, “Two people are better than one, because they can reap more benefit from their labor…. Moreover, a three-stranded cord is not quickly broken.” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 NET) If we are to be divinely inspired by the power of the Holy Spirit, our effort must be collaborative. So, I am offering up an opportunity to brainstorm topics for discussion as an online community of believers.

We all come to the Kingdom with particular spiritual gifts, a finesse of skills, and a multitude of talents as the Body of Christ. We must work together in order to see the good fruit of our effort as we abide in the Lord. I propose we start with sharing some of the ways to build our mental resilience. What are your strategies for mindfulness?

My personal take on mental health is it involves a significant amount of perseverance. The distractions of everyday life will push and pull you in all directions. How can you be intentional about your destination while dealing with the inevitable stress and struggles that will uproot you? What does a new life in Christ mean for your mind?

“Indeed, we live as human beings, but we do not wage war according to human standards; for the weapons of our warfare are not merely human, but they have divine power to destroy strongholds. We destroy arguments and every proud obstacle raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to obey Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:3-5 NLT)

Dear Lord,

At a time where war continues to be waged in the Middle East, I ask that you unify the Body of Christ in alignment with Ephesians 4:1-16. “As each one does its part, the body grows in love.” Help me to testify in a way that brings knowledge of you and oneness of purpose to this online community so they can be intentional with their gifts and talents.

What do I need to bring into focus regarding Your will and Your plans? I know you have spoken of a prosperous life in Christ (Jeremiah 29:11 NIV) and that you are a God who is for us and not against us (Romans 8:31 NIV). What is one step I can take forward in bringing The Gospel to this desolation and isolation in the world?

Where there is division, let there be compassion and kindness. Where there is ignorance, let eyes be opened to your truth and love. And, where there are harsh words and judgment, bless this disciple to “be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” (James 1:19 NIV)

Love,
Kristin

The Christian’s mind is a powerful force against the enemy who deceives and destroys. When we endure oppression, persecution, and discrimination, we often find change becomes possible. Allowing the Holy Spirit to transform your thoughts leads to actions and consequences that are obedient to God’s Word of Life. We cannot control the environment that surrounds us daily, but we can strive to react with grace and offer forgiveness to those who lack insight.

Let us start by asking the Lord to make us participants in His Great Commission to bring hope and reconciliation to our fellow man. Ignorance is bliss, and it is our responsibility as Christians to enlighten individuals and love them despite their tendency to follow what is temporary and not what is eternal. First and foremost, we need to love one another well if we are to exemplify the Messiah and His message of peace.

Restoring Christian Relationships

“Again, I tell you the truth, if two of you on earth agree about whatever you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three are assembled in my name, I am there among them.” (Matthew 18:19-20 NET)
